Successful Inaugural UATA Student Conference

On Saturday, October 5th, the inaugural UATA student conference was held on the University of Utah campus. 20 students from BYU, University of Utah, Utah Tech, UVU, and Weber State attended the conference.

The Keynote speaker was Theron Enns, Senior Director of Athlete Health & Performance

Real Salt Lake, who spoke on "How to effectively communicate with coaches and management". Five young professional Athletic Trainers answered the students' questions regarding working in the field and what they learned in those first years of practicing. Additional speakers talked about hot topics, such as ice vs. no ice, blood flow restriction therapy, spatting, and mental health. The students also participated in an activity that showed off their taping, bandaging, and splinting skills.

Kudos go out to Bryanna Howard for organizing this successful event. If you are interested in joining the UATA student committee, please reach out to her at bryanna.howard@utah.edu
